Center For Disease in Atlanta, Georgia has issued warnings about
the danger posed by kiddie and wading pools that are not kept clean
of germ-breeding mosquitoes and other disease-causing insects and bacteria.  The only way to remove debris 10 microns or lower (algae
 is less than 20 microns) from small pools is with the Pool Buster

How a Garden Hose variety (sold by the major Inflatable Pool Manufacturers

      Included in the Maintenance Kit (along with a pole and skimmer net), these vacs by the manufacturer’s own precautionary warning on their FAQ pages, will not remove fine sand, silt, and thus certainly not algae.

       All Pool Buster (and 2010 Catfish and Pool Blaster brand) vacs, which filter the existing pool water, feature hi-flow vacuum motors, powered by onboard batteries, creating a powerful suctioning vacuum. The garden hose pool wands, create only modest suction by creation of a partial vacuum, utilizing the Bernoulli-effect principal, or vortex-effect The principal works as follows:  As the water from the hose passes through the intake port of the vac, the pressure of the passing liquid drops in pressure, creating a partial vacuum that pulls the pool water and larger debris into the attached filter bag.  That water is untreated without chemicals and unheated, throwing off both the chemical and heat balance of the pool. It wastes huge quantities of water, which it adds to the water level of the pool.
