Blue Line Robotic cleaners will remove all debris down to 2
microns. Pool Buster will remove all particles down to 10
microns in size, while Garden Hose Wands will not remove
anything smaller than medium sand. A micron (micrometer) is a
measure that is 1 millionths of a meter (39.3 inches) in length,
or 1 thousands of a millimeter. Generally, the human eye cannot
see any thing smaller than 20 microns. Many pool contaminants
are much larger than 20 microns … leaves, twigs, gravel, etc.,
however even more are invisible to the human eye. Garden hose
and most other so-called pool vacs use attached filter bags of a
mesh-like construction, so large that they are not rated in
microns, and will not remove fine sand and silt, much less algae
and bacteria.
